Manchester City injury update: Aguero to be benched; De Bruyne returns to training

Manchester City star striker Sergio Aguero met with a car accident, while he was on his way to attend
a training session. Thankfully he escaped without any kind of injury.

It will be a big sigh of relief for the Cityzens, who have struggled with injury problems this season. The Argentine's £80,000 Range Rover suffered significant damage in the minor accident.

Reports in England claimed that Aguero even attended the training session and did not need any medical attention. The 31-year-old was not included in Argentina's squad during the international break for their fixtures against Germany and Ecuador, as he was carrying a minor injury. He remained in Manchester during the break.

Manchester City are already eight points behind their biggest challengers Liverpool, who have maintained a 100% record thus far. The Cityzens need to buckle up if they want to retain their title and need Aguero on fire for that. After this situation, however, he could be dropped from the starting lineup for Gabriel Jesus.

City face Crystal Palace away from home and though Aguero has been enjoying a good run of form, he might be rested initially. He has, so far, managed eight goals in eight games for the club and is right there at the top, in terms of the goals.

Kevin De Bruyne returned to training recently, after being out for a couple of weeks. It seems that he too could be on the bench in this one.

De Bruyne was in outstanding goal-scoring form prior to his injury and his creativity looked unmatched at that point of time. The fans, and Pep Guardiola, will hope that he can once again come back into the team and help them win games.

City has been quite inconsistent so far this season and will want to redeem themselves in the upcoming days. Liverpool are serious title contenders and if City does not buckle up, things can go haywire for them in this title race.
