PGL will host the first Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournament at the PGL Stockholm Major

After a two-year break, PGL will re-enter the CS:GO scene. They are going to be hosting a Major LAN tournament later this year.

The Major will also feature a $2 Million Prize pool, the largest till now is Counter Strike: Global Offensive history.

PGL have not hosted a CS:GO Major tournament for almost 2 years now. Last night, PGL revealed that they are going to step back into the CS:GO scene by taking charge of the Stockholm Major. The PGL Stockholm Major will begin on October 23 and end on November 7. The playoff will happen from November 4-7.

According to a tweet by PGL, this will be the first CS:GO Major to broadcast in 4k 60 FPS quality and it will include some form of Augmented Reality elements, a new custom HUD, and other features.

Since this is the first tournament to feature LAN competition, PGL will ensure they abide by all the safety & health guidelines. However, if the COVID-19 pandemic is not contained and kept at bay by then, the offline part of PGL Stockholm Major could be scrapped. But, we all hope that this doesn't happen.

The last CS:GO Major that took place was the StarLadder Berlin Major, which was conducted in September 2019. Denmark's team, Astralis won the tournament. After what seems like ages, CS:GO fans will be elated that a new Major has finally been announced.

The PGL Stockholm Major will be taking place at the Ericsson Globe, Stockholm. It will surely be one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year. Fans will be itching to return to the stadium and feel the excitement that comes along with LAN tournaments.

As the dates for the tournament gets closer, PGL will likely reveal the details about the number of people allowed to attend, tickets, the number of teams and the rosters participating in it.
