Liverpool superstar to sacrifice everything for the elusive Premier League title

Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane has revealed that the Liverpool’s stars are ‘sacrificing’ themselves in a bid to end the club’s 30-year wait for the Premier League trophy. 

The Reds were ‘hurt in the head mentally’ by losing out on the Premier League by a whisker in May and are keen to ensure that they complete their route to glory this time around. 

Liverpool have been relentless this season and if they can keep up their excellent momentum, they could break a number of records along with ending their 30-year drought for the Premier League title.

The Reds were 13 points ahead of the chasing pack ahead of the weekend despite playing a game less than the others. They have won all of their League games this season barring just one, which is nothing short of an unbelievable job and Mane has revealed that the players are keen to keep up their pace.

Recently crowned Club World Cup champions with the Reds, their star winger Sadio Mane reckons that a repeat of the last season is not on the cards. 

He said: “We’ve learned from the mistakes of last year. That was a tough time for us. You have to keep trying to be mentally sharp. If you lose the league that hurts you in the head mentally, so we always focus on the same target,that is to win something. 

“There are so many games but tiredness is in the head. This is not a problem for us. I think we’re better this season than last year. You have to sacrifice yourself when you’re in our situation. You deal with it and keep going until the end,” he further added.

Liverpool will host a courageous Sheffield United side with a hope to keep their lead intact. Both Leicester City and Manchester City won to add further pressure on the Reds.

Many had thought that the Reds could suffer from a fatigue after travelling thousands of miles during their Club World Cup triumph but in reality, it was the exact opposite as they completely dominated their opposition. 

Mane stated, “It’s another adventure for us. Let’s keep working and try to keep things at the same level.”

Liverpool’s postponed clash with West Ham will now be played on January 29. Meanwhile, defender Nathaniel Phillips has been recalled from his loan spell at VfB Stuttgart.
