Andrey Rublev vs Marton Fucsovics Prediction | Head-to-Head | Stats: Miami Open 2021

Fourth seed Andrey Rublev faces the 29th seed Marton Fucsovics in the third round of the Miami Open. 

After getting a bye in the first round, Rublev hit top gear blitzing past Tennys Sandgren 6-1 6-2 in the round of 64. The Russian won 85% of points on his second serve and clinched 82% of points on his first-serve. Rublev did not face a single break point during the entire match. 

Fucsovics battled past the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis claiming a narrow 7-6 (3) 6-7 (4) 6-4 win in the second round. The Hungarian landed 96% of his first serves in and won 69% of points. It was surprising that Kokkinakis lost the match despite winning more points (116) than Fucsovics (112) in the 3-hour 11-minute clash.

Rublev leads the head-to-head record 3-1 against Fucsovics. The two met each other just 10 days ago in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. Rublev won that match 7-5 6-2.

Rublev is in fantastic form on hard courts. His powerful first serves have helped him in finishing off games quickly. He has maintained consistency in returns with controlled aggression. 

The Russian can blast winners at will by playing inside the baseline. Opponents who play defensive tennis against Rublev will be eventually steamrolled. 

Fucsovics has been quite consistent in the 2021 season. The Hungarian made it to the finals of the Rotterdam Open and back-to-back quarterfinals in Doha and Dubai. Having met Rublev twice this month, he will know what it takes to beat the rampaging Russian. His backhand slice will have to be at his best.

After his quarterfinal loss in straight sets in the Dubai Open, Fucsovics had told Rublev that he did not want to face him again this year. But, his desire will remain short-lived as both the players have again landed up on the same side of the draw.

Having notched up a thumping victory against Sandgren, Rublev would be soaring with confidence. His attacking style of play and smart court positioning has helped him get momentum by regularly breaking the serve of his opponents.

Fucsovics has spent 2 hours more than the Russian on the court. Despite that, the Hungarian's serve was not broken throughout the match. 

He will have to use every ounce of his ball-striking abilities to pull off an unlikely upset against the ruthless Rublev as he aims to improve his win-loss record against top 10 players.
