Arsenal want Championship star winger

Premier League giants Arsenal have joined the race to sign Brentford star Said Benrahma, according to reports in England. 

The Algerian has enjoyed a fine season at Griffin Park, helping the Bees to sit fifth in the Championship table along with being in the race for reaching the playoffs. 

He has scored eights goals this season already after finding the back of the net 11 times during the last campaign. The 24-year-old winger also scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 thumping at Hull on the 1st of February. 

His performances alongside his attacking colleagues Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins have earned the front three the tag of 'The BMW'. 

And now, according to reports in London, the Gunners are interested in signing the winger and will hope that they are in the driving seat. 

However, the Gunners could face competition from Leicester and Newcastle for the signature of the Algerian international. 

Considered by many fans as the best player in the Championship right now, Benrahma has proved to be a huge bargain since arriving from Nice for just £1.5m in 2018. 

He previously came through the ranks as a youngster at French club Nice, featuring for their first and second teams but was shipped out on three loan spells in France. 

The 24-year-old is under contract until 2022 and it is thought that a £15million bid could be enough to convince Brentford to sell their prized asset. 

However, if Brentford can win a promotion at the end of the season, they will certainly have a strong case in order to retain their star attacker. 

The 24-year-old missed out on Algeria's Africa Cup of Nations-winning campaign even though he was named in the preliminary squad but was forced to withdraw through injury. 

However, his reputation has increased by leaps and bounds this campaign, with early-season reports from France suggesting that he was keen on moving up into the Premier League. 

He could prove to be a great addition to Arsenal on the cheap as £15million is pretty much a bargain these days.
