Arsenal looking to sign Everton full-back Jonjoe Kenny

Premier League giants Arsenal are said to be highly interested in Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny. 

The 23-year-old is currently on a season-long deal with German side FC Schalke 04 and has been highly impressive for David Wagner's side. 

As per reports in England, the pacey full-back has made the Gunners' shortlist of summer transfer targets. 

Defence is likely to be one of the areas where Mikel Arteta will be the most keen on strengthening once the season ends and Kenny is being eyed as one of the defensive reinforcements. 

Hector Bellerin is currently the first choice right-back at the Emirates but the Spaniard has looked far from his best since his return from injury. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is the only backup for Bellerin at the north London club right now but he is naturally not a defender.

Kenny could be a realistic target as a backup as he has failed to break into the Everton first-team. 

The Liverpool-born defender has featured 26 times for Schalke this season and the German media claim that he is looking for a permanent move to the Veltins-Arena. 

Another player who could make a permanent move to Arsenal is Dani Ceballos, who is currently on loan at the Emirates from Real Madrid. 

The Gunners' hopes of signing the Spaniard were given a boost as Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane put him on a list of stars who could leave Real Madrid this summer, according to reports. 

It is claimed that the Real Madrid manager wants to cut his squad size from 37 to 25 in the summer and could be open to a massive clear-out in the summer. 

Ceballos, aged just 23, could well be among the 12  players at risk of facing the chop along with stars such as Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez. 

According to reports in England, the Gunners are hopeful of securing a new deal for the versatile midfielder they have on loan at the Emirates until June 30, either temporarily again or on a permanent deal.
