Bayern Munich are all set to host PSG at the Allianz Arena on a Wednesday night in the quarter-final of the Champions League as the defending champions take on with the runners-up.

1) Bayern Munich 2-3 PSG (8th April 2021)

The two favorites to win the 2020-21 Champions League played out a five-goal thriller at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. Kylian Mbappe fired the visitors in front inside 3' minutes with a shot too hot to handle for Manuel Neuer. 

Marquinhos made it 2-0 with a cool side-footed finish after he had being played in by Neymar following a PSG set-piece. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting pulled one back for the Bavarians before half-time with a clinical header. Bayern rallied in the second half as they dominated possession. 

Bayern's favorite son, Thomas Muller, equalized at the hour mark with a trademark finish from a Joshua Kimmich pass to make it 2-2. 

The Bavarians looked in the ascendency and certain to push for the winner, but Mbappe had the first and the last laugh in the game as he scored the winner in the 68th minute from a blistering PSG counter slotting a low snapshot past Manuel Neuer.  

2) Bayern Munich 1-0 PSG (24th Aug 2020)

The 2020 Champions League will always have a unique place in every football fan's heart as we saw the competition with changes that were never witnessed before. Two-legged ties were turned into one-game knockouts, while we saw two of the best and most deserving sides play each other in the finals.

PSG started off really well and created a couple of chances too. They couldn't capitalize on the chances and that hurt them towards the end. 

Bayern Munich didn't look like their usual best but they still managed to tick the scoreboard, courtesy of Kingsley Coman who pounced on the ball from Joshua Kimmich, and Keylor Navas could do nothing about it.

Kylian Mbappe had some chances too which he would've scored on any other day but luck was simply not in their favor that day. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, had some promising, devastating, and exceptional performances on the road, the highlight being the 8-2 demolition of Barcelona.

It will be interesting to see how these sides fare in a two-legged tie.

3) Bayern Munich 3-1 PSG (6th Dec 2017)

A return fixture of the 2017-18 Champions League group stage saw the sides face each other. Bayern Munich struck early with the help of Robert Lewandowski before Corentin Tolisso doubled their advantage in the 37th minute of the game.

The second half saw Kylian Mbappe pull one back for the Ligue 1 side in the 50th minute but Tolisso was there to the task again, as he put the game to bed after completing his brace in the 69th minute. Both the teams went through to the Round of 16 but PSG contrived to win the group.

4) PSG 3-0 Bayern Munich (28th Sept 2017)

This game was one of the main reasons why PSG won the league as they managed a comprehensive victory over Bayern Munich, shutting them out completely.

The tempo of the game was set with Dani Alves scoring first, with the help of Neymar as PSG went ahead just in the second minute of the game. Just after the half an hour mark, Edinson Cavani doubled their advantage as a young Kylian Mbappe set him up beautifully.

Bayern Munich made some changes in the second half but nothing went their way as Neymar put the final nail in the coffin, firing the third and the final goal of the game just a few minutes ago in the final quarter of the game.

5) Bayern Munich 2-0 PSG (17th Oct 2000)

Another group stage H2H meeting between the two sides and the situation was pretty much the same. Bayern needed a win to qualify for the next stages and that's what happened.

Bayern Munich were dominant throughout the game against PSG with goals from Hasan Salihamidzic, who is the German giant's current sporting director, and Paulo Sergio just before the 90th minute helped Bayern progress. Not to forget, Bayern Munich then went on to win the competition too.

6) PSG 1-0 Bayern Munich (25th Sept 2000)

Parc des Princes was all set for an action-packed fixture but unfortunately, we did not witness many goals. The game had a decent tempo and it felt that both the teams would end the game with a point each.

However, the home side had a lot to celebrate towards the end as substitute Laurent Leroy scored a 90th-minute strike to help PSG earn the victory.
