Chelsea revive interest in Hakim Ziyech and Jeremie Boga

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is reportedly ready to relaunch his bid for £45 million-rated Ajax star Hakim Ziyech. 

The Chelsea manager was left hugely frustrated when the club failed to land any of his transfer targets during January including the Ajax superstar. The 41-year-old even went public over his disappointment of not being able to strengthen despite seeing the transfer ban lifted. 

Ziyech is one of the most sought-after players in Europe right now with Arsenal and Manchester United also interested in his services. He was also named among UEFA’S top 20 performers in the Champions League last season as Ajax went all the way to a thrilling semi final defeat to Spurs. 

It is believed that Lampard wanted more creativity and goals from his team. For that objective, Ziyech was one of his top priorities. The fact Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia was unable to bring him in last month led to Lampard venting his feelings. 

Ziyech featured in two Champions League group games against Chelsea this season in which Lampard got to run a close eye over his creativity and flair. 

Chelsea have started their work on their summer transfers and are also looking to flesh out a plan for former youth team winger Jeremie Boga. The winger has been impressive for Serie A side Sassoulo and it is understood that the Blues have first refusal on bringing him back to England. 

Chelsea are looking to buy Boga back for as little as £15 million. 

The 23-year-old scored his seventh goal of the season at the weekend and is viewed as a long-term replacement for Chelsea veteran Willian. 

Lampard and his squad have been enjoying time off during their winter break and resume action next Monday against Manchester United. 

Following their dip in form off late, Chelsea will be desperate to up their game if they want to finish in the top four.

The reverse fixture ended in an embarrassing 4-0 loss for the Blues and Lampard will be determined for a payback this time out.
