Duncan Ferguson to remain incharge of Everton for Old Trafford

Duncan Ferguson will be in charge of Everton once again as the Merseyside club travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, one of their bitter rivals in the Premier League.

Both teams are high on confidence having earned unexpected results last week against strong opponents.

When Ferguson took over after the sacking of Marco Silva, Everton was in the demotion zone, but he lifted the spirits of the side straightaway as the Toffees beat the visiting Chelsea 3-1 to get themselves out of the bottom three.

It was announced initially that Ferguson would be managing the club for just one match as the club was looking for an ideal candidate to take charge on a permanent basis, but the fact that no candidate has been finalized yet and Ferguson did the job so well last weekend, it has been decided to give him another go.

Some people are actually of the view that the club should keep Ferguson in charge for the rest of the season and see if he can do a decent job as a manager. He hasn’t managed any club so far, but he is the Everton legend and brings a lot of intensity as well as knowledge to the table.

The Everton board is believed to be in talks with one of their old managers David Moyes who had left them for Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Moyes hasn’t had a great run at any club ever since and he is interested in returning to Goodison Park.

Another candidate who is in the picture is Carlo Ancelotti who was shockingly sacked by Napoli only recently after helping them make it through to the round of 16 in the Champions League. 

Ancelotti has an outstanding record as a manager. Not only has he won Champions League thrice, but he has also won league titles in England, Italy, France, and Germany.
