The French connection between Kylian Mbappe and Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane recently challenged Kylian Mbappe to become the perfect idol for football supporters everywhere around the world, in response to a recent interview given by the PSG forward.
Mbappe was seen admitting at the launch of his new foundation in Paris that fellow Frenchman and Los Blancos boss, Zidane was his idol during his childhood. The PSG winger is currently regarded as the most popular and supremely talented teenager, who has been impressive from the moment he made his debut.
The Madrid boss was then asked for his take on Mappe’s admiration in his pre-match conference and he responded by calling the 21-year-old to be ‘the example’ for the coming generations, as reported by Marca.
He said,” He (Mbappe) is the example. We are examples for those who play football. I have been an example because some people liked how I played.” All this happened before Real Madrid played Unionistas in a Copa Del Rey clash.
Rumors have never stopped about linking the PSG forward to the Los Blancos and since Zidane has admitted that he is ‘in love with’ the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Also, Mbappe has confessed in the past that he dreams of being a part of the Real Madrid squad in the future.
PSG signed the youngster from Monaco in 2017 for a thumping £145m and it is expected that he will move only for a better fee. A move from Parc des Princes is highly unlikely at the moment as PSG look to have bonded really well under Thomas Tuchel. The trio of Mbappe, Neymar and Mauro Icardi have lit up Ligue 1, firing from all the angles.
Los Blancos have also been rock solid with their performances and are looking to break Barcelona’s La Liga dominance this season. Madrid also claimed a dramatic penalty shootout victory over city rivals Atletico Madrid to clinch the Supercopa de Espana this season
