Pep thinks he could be sacked if Manchester City fails to defeat Real Madrid.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has already accepted the fact that they will not be able to defend the Premier League title this season, with Liverpool a massive 22 point lead at the top of the table, so Guardiola’s focus is solely on lifting the Champions League with the Citizens for the first time.

Guardiola did not shy away from the importance of his upcoming meeting with Real Madrid and the prime focus for him at the moment is to pave a way to come out on top against the 13-time European Champions.

“There are many incredible players that made our fans happy, and our fans enjoyed that part of the season. I know the people say ‘You are good’ or ‘You’re not good enough.’ I accept it. I want to win the Champions League, I dream and will enjoy the games against Real Madrid, to see what can I do," Guardiola told Sky Sports.

“And this process, two weeks before, will be the happiest moments of my profession, to imagine what we can do to beat them. If we don’t beat them, then the chairman will come, or the sporting director, and say ‘It’s not good enough, we want the Champions League, I’m going to sack you’. Then ‘OK, thank you, it was a pleasure,” he further added.

Pep was further asked whether his job will genuinely be on the line, Guardiola confessed that it is certainly a possibility. He said, “I don’t know, many times it has happened. Or maybe he will say ‘OK, you’ve done well, but what can we improve? Since I arrived, that is what I have got from this club, what we can do, then do it better and do it better. That is the process.”

Pep like always praised Klopp and his men and appreciated the fact that they will be winning the title after four or five years of pure hard work. He told that the process was good and effective enough and that is why we are seeing results.

He finally ended up accepting the fact that you cannot be the best all the time because there are other players and teams, who work very hard too.
