How good will be the 2020-21 season for Arsenal?

Last season ended on a positive note for Arsenal as they won the FA Cup. This season has already begun on a high note as they have won the Community Shield at the start and are looking so much better in the league as compared to last season.

After a hard time under Unai Emery, former club captain Mikel Arteta has done ever so well with the club. In only 10 months Arteta has already struck the right notes and is reaping the rewards.

This season can be a great one for Arsenal. They have good opportunities to get the best out of them in all the competitions that they are part of.

The Europa League

Arsenal does not boast success in European competitions. During the 2018-19 season, they did reach the Europa League final, but could not get past Chelsea.

Last season, they gave a poor show in the league, but the FA Cup will keep them alive in Europe. This season can be their ideal season to finally win back the competition they last won in 1994. They have both a good squad and management to lead them to the trophy.

The Strength of the squad

Arsenal may not have a squad like the ‘Invincible’ anymore but nevertheless, the current one is not bad either. The front trio demonstrates an extreme pace as they happen to be one of the fastest in Europe led by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Nicolas Pepe and Willian along with Alexandre Lacazette would simply make a mockery of defenders around the world on their day.

David Luiz is obviously the leader of the defence. He has already been at the club now for 2 years and will look to make this year great. He holds a strong reputation of winning trophies everywhere he has played and would like to make Arsenal no exception.

The midfield would surely be the best of it kind now. With new signing Thomas Partey and his partnership with Dani Cellabos, the midfield looks balanced.

Managerial Extravaganza

Mikel Arteta has been in charge of the club for only 10 months. But within this small time bracket, he could find out the players he needs in the team and whom he doesn’t. Also, his trophy cabinet has already started to fill.

The Spaniard is a young coach with some good experience to boast under Pep Guardiola, under whom he spend 3 years as an assistant. He puts in a lot of enthusiasm and commitment in the team, something that is well appreciated by both the players and management.

Arteta needs to find the forward line. There have been excessive changes, in the recent few weeks. The sooner he finds the right players, the faster results will come.

Value in Chances

Arsenal hasn’t really got the personnel and caliber they need to win the league this year. However, it is only the start of the season and there’s a long way to go.

No one can predict what will happen at the end of this season. If they manage to go deep into their European campaign and get a top-four finish in the league, they can look forward to making this season a grand one.
