Why Jurgen Klopp doesn’t celebrate goals anymore?

With VAR being introduced into the Premier League this season, Jurgen Klopp has stopped celebrating goals.

 After Klopp's team defeated Watford 2-0 at Anfield to go 10 points clear at the top of the table. The Liverpool manager in the post match press conference yesterday told, 'VAR has ruled out numerous goals this season and some of them have been highly controversial where the minute of margins have been taken into consideration to declare the players off side'

Yesterday was a similar case when Sadio Mane put the ball into the net and everybody thought it was a legitimate goal as the whole Anfield erupted.

But, the way it turned out later, Mane’s armpit was found offside as the VAR officials drew an imaginary vertical line to determine it and the goal was eventually not given.

Although the Reds were still able to win the game, the home supporters were not amused with the VAR decision as they thought it was a tight call and when it’s quite tight, the benefit of the doubt must go to the scoring team.

When Klopp was asked about that in the presser, he made it clear that Mane was not in an offside position in his view.

“I thought there was one pass before where maybe it was offside, but that Sadio was offside, I couldn't see.” Klopp was quoted saying.

Klopp also insisted he opts not to celebrate these days when the ball goes into the net because he is never sure if it’s an actual goal or not. He believes it only when it is officially announced that it is indeed a goal.

“I don't celebrate goals anymore because you have to wait until somebody says it is a goal.” Klopp added.
