Premier League Preview: Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host relegation threatened, Burnley at Anfield on Thursday, 21st Jan 2021.

Liverpool’s recent run of form has not been electrifying, unlike last season. After being held to a draw by Manchester United in the last round of the league, the Reds have slipped to 4th in the table. 

Jurgen Klopp's side are winless in their last four Premier league games. Although their current Premier League goals are still top the charts, the decline has become more apparent with injuries to key players like Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara.

Burnley's performance this season haven't been good enough. At present, they only have 16 points in their hand, placed at 17th position in the standings. Although Burnley are still 4 points above the relegation zone, the pressure on the team to relegation is still great. 

The winning percentage is justabout more than 20%. Recently, they suffered defeats at the hands of Manchester United and West Ham. As of now, the team has only scored 9 goals. Obviously, there is a serious problem in the goal scoring department for Burnley.

In terms of overall strength, Liverpool is naturally far better than Burnley. Although Liverpool has been in a poor state during the recent period, the so-called skinny camel is bigger than the horse. Compared Burnley, this campaign Liverpool still has a great chance of winning at home.
