Manchester United to sanction Double Deal for German duo

Manchester United executive Vice-Chairman, Ed Woodward has given the green light for a £125million double swoop for German duo Kai Havertz and Thomas Muller in January if reports in England are to be believed. 

The Red Devils board looks determined to bolster their squad during the winter transfer window. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have failed to live up to their expectations so far this season but Woodward is still believed to have his complete trust in the Norwegian and wants to back him up as much as he can. 

In order to reinforce the squad, which is struggling to perform, they have identified the German duo of Thomas Muller and Kai Havertz. The two players are in two completely different situations in their respective careers but both of them look quite ambitious targets for the Red Devils considering the place they are in. 

Kai Havertz is one of the best young players in the world at the moment and his stocks are therefore quite high. Manchester United are not in Champions League this season and look likely to miss out on top four this season as well unless they pull off a miraculous comeback. 

Clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and of course Bayern Munich are big admirers of the 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen starlet and it would be a surprise if Havertz opts to join a much lesser Manchester United side with so many options open to him. 

Muller, on the other hand, has been a loyal servant to Bayern Munich all his life but is frustrated with the lack of playing time he is having this season. Philippe Coutinho's loan move to the Allianz Arena from Barcelona has hurt Muller's cause and he looks for a way out of the club. 

Even at the age of 30, Muller still remains a top player and looks to have plenty of football left in him. He has always been a naturally fit player and from what it seems, he is likely to last longer at the top level than others footballers of his age. 

At the dusk of his career, it would be a surprise if he sacrifices Champions League football in favour of a move to Manchester United. However, financially the Red Devils can make any player in the world very happy with the kind of lucrative wage package they usually offer. 

We have to wait and see if Manchester United can pull off the ambitious double deal from Germany in January. If they can make it happen, it will be a massive statement from the club in crisis.
