Manuel Neuer shuns any rift situations with Barcelona counterpart
Whenever there is an international break, the most popular news is about the German team as there are always reports of a fall out between him and Barcelona star keeper, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
According to Manuel Neuer, the reports of a rift with his fellow German goalkeeper Ter Stegen are totally incorrect.
Earlier this year, Bayern’s first-choice keeper Neuer criticized his Barca counterpart for making unnecessary comments over his disappointment at not playing more regularly for Die Mannschaft.
Neuer talked up the qualities of Ter Stegen, who is currently one of the best goalkeepers in the world at the moment.
The former Schalke stopper said,” In principle, far too much was made of it.” He also said that they train together for the national team and have conversations as team-mates rather than as competitors.
“Each of us tries to show our best performance for the team so that we can be successful. This is important because we play in a team,” he added.
Bayern Munich recently confirmed that Hansi Flick would be the Bayern boss until the end of the season. Hansi Flick has achieved eight wins from 10 matches across all competitions since taking over from Niko Kovac.
The 2014 World Cup winner also shared his thoughts about Flick, who according to him has earned his spot to lead Bayern.
Neuer has kept five clean-sheets from 17 Bundesliga matches this season, while Ter Stegen also, has the same number of clean-sheets.
When compared, Ter Stegen has surprisingly made three errors that have led to a goal while Neuer has made none. Neuer also has a better record while facing the spot-kick.
Currently, as it stands, Neuer is the more deserved to be the first choice. However, the season is yet to finish and both the Germans will be gunning to grab the spot.
The Bayern Munich keeper, being six years elder to Ter Stegen, is more vulnerable to losing the spot but the he knows how to rise to the occasion.
