Nuno Espirito Santo thinking about the transfer window every day
The Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has said that there are a lot of thoughts going into his head at the moment regarding the potential players he needs to sign in the mid-season transfer window.
The Wolves have exceeded the expectations under Nuno this season as they are currently at the sixth position in the Premier League standings with 27 points in 18 games.
They shocked everyone by pulling off a sensational result at the Etihad Stadium in October when they beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 2-0.
While finishing in the top four is still not a realistic possibility, they are certainly very dangerous opponents to play against at the moment, for any team in the league.
Nuno thinks he can further improve his squad if he makes the right signings in winter transfer window. He refused to reveal if he had any certain area in mind to improve on or he was looking for certain personnel, but he did admit that he was thinking about the transfers a lot.
According to the 'Portuguese', he has not made the final decisions yet in terms of the personnel as the market is still a week away from opening and before that, he would have meetings with the club hierarchy.
“I'm thinking. Every moment of the day, I'm thinking. I'm thinking about how things can be better for us.” Nuno told the reporters.
“Let's see what happens. Of course, we need players. We still have a lot of chances to speak before the beginning of the winter market.” Nuno further added.
It is understood that Nuno had Red Bull Salzburg’s Hwang Hee-chan on his radar for the striker postion, but Red Bull cleared the air recently saying that they didn’t want to let the 23-year old South Korean go.
Apart from the offense, the other area that Nuno might be looking to strengthen is the heart of defense with Willy Boly still out injured.
