Three Players Chelsea should sign in the January transfer window
Chelsea's transfer ban has been lifted and the Blues will be ready to splash out cash in the upcoming transfer window.
The club was focused on giving their academy graduates a chance to shine until this time. At the start of the season, Frank Lampard's side were very promising but now there has been a significant dip in form since November.
The west London side have lost five in nine league matches and their form against the top six in the Premier League has been questionable so far. This has prompted the Pensioners to look out for players with sheer class.
In addition to this, Chelsea have an uphill task as they face Bayern Munich in the round of 16 tie of the UEFA Champions League. As of now, Lampard's men are not in a position to defeat the Bavarians until and unless they sign new players in January.
These are the top three transfer targets for Chelsea:
1. Ben Chilwell
The England International is currently one of the best prospects in the Premier League. The man is on rampant form for Leicester City this time around and has already claimed three assists in 12 League appearances.
Chelsea have identified the left-back position as one of their weak spots. Both Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso haven't impressed Lampard so far this season. Chilwell's signing will provide a great boost for the Blues.
The 23 year old defender has a tackle success rate of 62% with 102 interceptions and 235 clearances. He has also done 463 ball recoveries for the Foxes, a stat which has seemingly convinced the Chelsea coaching staff.
2. Wilfried Ndidi
The Nigerian is the second best tackler in the Premier League this season. With 72 tackles and two goals in 18 appearances for Leicester, he has been a vital force in the midfield for the Foxes.
Having formed a formidable partnership with James Maddison and Youri Tielemans in the middle of the park, Leicester city have become a force to be reckoned with.
The presence of the gutsy African as a defensive midfielder has proved to be of great significance. Currently Chelsea lack a player of that calibre as N'Golo Kante plays in a more advanced position and Jorginho is predominantly ineffective when it comes to defensive duties.
Ndidi will be a perfect player, who can be a assuring sign in front of the back four. He has the ability to annul the opposition attack and can intercept passes in a brilliant manner
3. Jadon Sancho
With senior stars Willian and Pedro at the end of their contracts, Jadon Sancho will look to fill the gap in both the wings.
The youngster has been rumored to sign for Manchester United in the recent days. But it looks like Chelsea will provide stiff competition to the Red Devils in the transfer market.
The English prodigy is in a terrific form for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. He has nine goals and nine assists so far in his 15 appearances for the BVB.
Frank Lampard sees Sancho as a part of his youth revolution that has changed the face of the clubthis season.
The Likes of fellow Englishmen Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi might attract the former Manchester City teenager to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
