Premier League Team of the Week: Match day 19
Goalkeeper
Alphonso Areola
Team: West Ham
Probably the best player among all of the playing 11 mentioned, French international Alphonso Areola was the sole reason why West Ham didn’t concede a goal. 20 plus shots on him and he managed to save each one of them to have a clean sheet for the team and himself.
Left centre back
J. Hinshelwood
Team: Brighton
Brighton have a new talent to manage, Hinshelwood is a player in talks now after showcasing some good performances in the past few games, it looks like the Premier League pressure is not much of an issue for the young blood who was too good for a threatening Tottenham Hotspur forward line.
Sweeper
Virgil Van Dijk
Team: Liverpool
Virgil Van Dijk was back to his best during the Premier League match day 19 as we saw glimpses of the old Liverpool’s Netherlands captain who hadn’t had the Ligament injury. The sun must surely have got his morale booster with some more crucial games coming by for the Anfield giants.
Right centre back
Pervis Estupinian
Team: Brighton
Ecuadorean right back Pervis Estupinian scored a worldie in his side's win against Tottenham Hotspur. The player was one of those crucial members of the first team squad absent for a major chunk of the season due to injury but was back to the main 11 and proved to be a vital addition that resulted in a win for the Albion.
Left Midfield
Anthony Elanga
Team: Nottingham Forest
Former Manchester United player was pivotal in providing an assist to two of those three goals Chris Wood scored for the Forest side against Newcastle. A danger on the left-hand side of the pitch Elanga has been crucial in Nottingham Forest's wins in the Premier League campaigns.
Centre midfield
Thomas Sucek
Team: West Ham
It was the Czech Republic international and also captain who gave the West London side a vital lead against Arsenal who hosted them at home. They haven’t lost a home game for pretty long but it was probably their time when Sucek’s goal proved to be the confidence gainer for them, ultimately winning the game 2-0.
Centre midfield
Phil Foden
Team: Manchester City
Phil Foden was a reason why Manchester City was able to make a good comeback against an Everton side who had taken the lead in the first half itself. A goal and an assist to his name, and both of them came in the second half to help the team make a comeback to make sure three points were earned for sure.
Right midfield
Mykhailo Mudryk
Team: Chelsea
The Ukrainian hasn’t had a lot of opportunities come by for him since his move from Shakhtar Donetsk. With him scoring his second only goal in this Premier League season he’d be hoping to score many more to gain confidence and cement his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s preferred playing 11.
Left forward
Alejandro Garnacho
Team: Manchester United
The little Argentinian could prove to be a perfect successor to the famous left-wing position as he has been their main goal scorer this season. Again a brace for the Red Devils helping them come from behind against an in-form Aston Villa side was sublime.
Centre forward
Chris Wood
Team: Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest had a trick in their sleeves while playing former Newcastle player Chris Wood against them. The New Zealander scored a Hattrick against his former employers who must be thinking of why they ever let him leave considering their misfiring forward line in this year's Premier League season.
Right forward
Hwang Hee-Chan
Team: Wolves
South Korean and former Redbull Salzburg prodigy Hwang Hee-Chan was exceptional during match day 19 as he scored a brace to secure his name in the Premier League team of the week for Matchday 19. He has been much utilised in a wing position this time out with injuries ruling Pedro Neto out mostly.
