PV Sindhu lone Indian in BWF World Tour finals
On account of having won the BWF World Championship title in August this year, PV Sindhu will play in the BWF World Tour finals scheduled to begin from 11th December at Guangzhou, China.
After winning the prestigious title, the Indian has been in poor form, losing at Denmark Open, China Open, Japan and Korea Open. She reached the quarterfinals of the French Open 2019.
Sindhu finished 15th in the BWF World Tour finals rankings. She is the defending champion, and with the Indian winning the World Championship, she will get direct entry into the tournament.
It is going to be a massive challenge to maintain the intensity for Sindhu. She will be looking to show much better consistency in the upcoming tournament against the best badminton players.
Tai Tzu Ying, Chen Yufei, Ratchanok Intanon, Nozomi Okuhara, He Bingjiao and Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand would take part.
The Indian shuttlers had a tough season with Sai Praneeth winning the bronze medal in World Championship.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty who won the Thailand Open, had opted out of the prestigious tournament in August due to injury.
