Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says fans can expect "new ideas" from the team
Manchester United resume their season away to Spurs on June 19 and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed that the fans can expect new ideas. Manchester United have been implementing “new ideas” in training and the United boss is very impressed with the team’s spirit as training intensity is ramped up ahead of the Premier League’s resumption.
United will be facing their old manager Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham in two week’s time after almost a gap of three months, playing their last match against LASK on March 12, winning 5-0. Before the pandemic, United were in stunning form and were unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions, including league wins against Chelsea and Manchester City.
That improvement in performances was in spite of injuries to key players like Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford. Another good news for the fans is that both the players are fully fit to feature when the league resumes. Fans around the world have been very keen to see Paul Pogba and the newly signed Bruno Fernandes’ partnership after reports suggesting that they have been working very well alongside each other.
Solskjaer while talking o United’s official website said, “Training has been about recapping what we did well, tweaking maybe one or two things and looking at some new ideas. But hopefully, we can see a lot of what we saw towards the end before the lockdown. We’ve got games coming weekend, midweek, weekend for a spell, so you have to focus on ourselves and not just on that one, first game.”
Solskjaer also revealed that he was amazed by the fact that the players kept themselves fit despite being restricted to train together for a long spell of time. He also mentioned that since contact training has been approved, the players have been performing only better and hopefully will go into the Spurs game with a strong mentality, as they already started the 19-20 campaign against Chelsea where the team did absolutely well.
