Three reasons why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked before the end of 2019

Manchester United have been struggling for form this season, under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. 

The Norwegian boss made a positive start in England as he revived the Old Trafford side last term as an interim coach. However, since he took over as the permanent boss, things just haven’t gone his way.

His team hasn’t been performing like they were before and the struggles seem to just keep on growing. This has been quite visible on the pitch, with regards to the results. 

Many of the fans have turned their backs on Solskjaer, looking at the way that the team is playing at present. He is no longer getting the kind of support that he was, previously and he is just a few more bad days away from getting sacked.

With that being said, here are three reasons why Solskjaer could be sacked before the end of 2019.

No Proper Footballing Style

Most managers at the top clubs in Europe have a well-defined style of play and philosophy. Manchester United always had a fixed style of football under Sir Alex Ferguson. 

Even Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho had a peculiar style of play, during their reigns at Old Trafford. However, under Solskjaer, things do not look well-defined, especially this season.

The team has, at times, struggled to have an identity and play in a particular way under the Norwegian main-man. His tactics are confusing at times and he is even playing some players in the wrong position, Andreas Pereira for instance. 

Due to this, the fans who were cheering Solskjaer last term, seem to be confused with what he has been doing in the current campaign. The United faithful are unhappy with the football that is on display on the pitch at present and want the team to have a fixed style of play.

Lack Of Squad Depth

The Red Devils have already suffered quite a few injuries in the current season, which meant that their squad depth would be tested quite early. 

The club had signed quite a few stars in the summer transfer window, but their biggest mistake was letting Romelu Lukaku, Ander Herrera and Alexis Sanchez leave without bringing in proper replacements. 

Further, defensive injuries also hurt them and the players that did come in, failed to replicate the performances of some of the first-team stars.

Due to this, it became quite clear that the squad does not have the depth needed to play multiple competitions at once. 

There is a clear need for the club to buy more stars in the January transfer window and hopefully they will spend money on the right stars. 

No Prolific Goal-scorer

Manchester United are clearly lacking a prolific goal-scorer. The club was keen on signing more attack-minded players during the summer, though a deal did not happen. 

The injury to Anthony Martial forced Marcus Rashford to step up and deliver, but the Englishman was unable to do so. He was out-of-form and struggling for goals, until quite recently. 

With that being said, United should not have let both Sanchez and Lukaku leave, without getting in an additional attacker.

The team needs to score goals to win games and the fact that they do not have an in-form goal-scorer at present, might hurt their overall ambitions. 

Solskjaer has not shown his faith in young Mason Greenwood despite his positive comments to the media. 

Keeping that in mind, Mario Mandzukic has been linked with a move to Manchester and the club will be hoping to bring him in, during the January transfer window.

But even that might not prevent Ole Gunnar Solksjaer from getting the axe.
