The New Age Wimbledon: Wimbledon Men's Singles Semi-Finals and Final Prediction
Dear Reader, Wimbledon quarter-finals went as per my prediction in our earlier article. It was sad to see a tired Roger Federer losing to Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets and 3rd set 6-0. Maybe we are seeing him at Wimbledon for the last time.
The new age Wimbledon is coined by me as Berrettini, Hurkacz and Shapovalov will be playing their first semifinal, whereas in contrast, Djokovic has won 19 grand slams, 84 titles and he is the only player to win all 9 masters.
Berrettini, Harkacz, and Shapovalov belong to 3rd level contenders to challenge Big 3. 2nd level Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas and Medvedev all lost to pave way.
So if one thinks that the semifinals will be devoid of colors, then he/she is totally mistaken. Matches will be of the highest quality and competitive. Let's dive into the prediction for the Wimbledon semi-finals and final.
1) Semi-Final 1: Djokovic (1st) vs Shapovalov (10th)
Shapovalov has displayed power service, strong backhand, where he uses wrists to change the direction with pace.
However, he commits many unforced errors due to the over-involvement of wrists. It is surprising that he is the only left-handed player left in the fray. So he is going to trouble Djokovic. Djokovic will keep returning his best shots and frustrate him.
The match will last to 3 to 4 hours of a slugfest.
Head to Head Record: Djokovic leads 6-0 against Shapovalov
However, the last 2 matches have been close ones. So do not expect it to be one-sided.
Wimbledon Semi-Final 1 Prediction: Djokovic to win in 4 sets.
2) Semi-Final 2: Berrettini (7th) vs Hurkacz (14th)
This will be a duel. Both are serving exceedingly well. Both have powerful Forehand. Backhand of Hurkacz is better than Berrettini. Every set will end in a tiebreaker.
The deciding factor will be the powerful forehand of Berrettini.
Wimbledon Semi-Final 2 Prediction: Hurkacz defeated Berrettini in their only encounter at Miami masters but here I expect Berrettini to win in 4 sets.
The Grand Finale: Wimbledon Final Prediction
N Djokovic (1st) vs M. Berrettini (7th)
Who can forget the epic french open match between them. Djokovic exploited the slice backhand of Berrettini. Whereas Berrettini kept hitting forehand winners. the match lasted 4 hours and Djokovic was angry as he was finding himself helpless at the sledgehammer forehand of Berrettini.
So I expect the sets to go into tiebreakers and we may be treated to 5 sets of quality Tennis.
