Arsenal eyeing moves for Thomas Lemar and Dayot Upamecano
New Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly eyeing a move for Thomas Lemar in a bid to solve the Gunners' tactical problems.
Atletico are willing to let their player leave as the fallout star hasn't fulfilled their expectations since joining the club back in June 2018 for a lucrative €63 Million deal.
The reason behind Lemar's recent struggles is due to the tactical flexibility of RojiBlancos Manager Diego Simeone and the forward is yet to record a goal or assist this season.
The player has featured 43 times for the Red and Whites scoring at only four occasions,a statistic that shows how poor the 24-year old has fared for the club. The Spanish side are vying to shed off their losses by selling the Frenchman once a suitable offer arrives.
Meanwhile the North London club are looking forward to sign the World cup winner at least on loan with an option to sign him on a permanent basis next summer. It seems that the Gunners have been noticing Thomas Lemar for a significantly long time since he was about to move to La Liga.
Based on reports from London, Arteta is persuading the club hierarchy to sign a centre-back and a new striker to resolve all of their woes they faced in the recent fixtures.
RB Leipzig's star center-back Dayot Upamecano is seen as a potential replacement for Arsenal's depleted back line. The club also saw a bid of €55 million getting rejected by the Bundesliga side.
In addition to this, cross-town rivals Tottenham and Manchester City have engaged themselves in a tug-of-war to sign the highly rated defender.
Arsenal have conceded 30 goals in 20 matches and this is said to be one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League this season.
They currently sit at the twelfth position in the league table and their players are under severe criticism after they lost against Chelsea in the most recent gameweek.
