Agent of Chelsea midfielder hints at Juventus move
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho's agent has thrown the midfielder's future with the Blues into doubt by hinting about a move to Italian giants Juventus.
A reunion with Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri was reportedly on the cards with the player's representative, Joao Santos, openly discussing a deal at the time.
But Jorginho has since excelled under Chelsea's new boss Frank Lampard to shrug off any assertions that he was the "teacher's pet" when Sarri was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil-born Italian international had two spells under Sarri, first at Napoli for a few good years and then again at Chelsea. And, reports that he could reunite with Sarri at Juventus refuse to die down.
Speaking to TMW, Jorginho's agent Santos claimed that offers are likely should Jorginho perform well at Euro 2020.
He said: "[Jorginho's] goal is Euro 2020 with the national team - there are many expectations around Mancini's team.
"The Euros are also a good personal showcase, he is doing very well at Chelsea and I am sure that some important offers will come because in his role there are not many high level players like him around."
When asked specifically on a potential move to Juventus, now managed by Sarri, Santos opted not to dismiss it completely which would be encouraging for the Old Lady.
He replied: "Why not?
"I am sure that some important offers will come, which we would obviously evaluate together with Chelsea."
Jorginho has been a key member of the Chelsea side this season and has played 32 games across all competitions under Lampard. And, he is also expected to play a key role for Italy in the upcoming Euro 2020.
Despite the fact that Jorginho and Sarri have a very good working relationship, it seems unlikely that Sarri will make a move for the 28-year-old as he is already well-stocked with options in the middle of the park.
And, in the role Jorginho excels, the Old Lady already have Miralem Pjanic who is one of the very best players in the deep-lying playmaker role. So, Chelsea might not need to worry too much about an interest from Juventus.
