Antonio Conte's Inter ready for a do or die clash against Barcelona
Antonio Conte, in his first season at Internazionale itself, has brought a massive improvement in the club’s performance and ended a disappointing run of results from the previous seasons.
Not only with his tactics, Conte has made some big and at the same time underrated signings such as ex-Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, who is on loan.
The robust, Diego Godin, also signed for the club on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid. With the departure of Inter’s top players, Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi loaned out to Paris Saint-Germain, it looked difficult for the Italian manager to produce good results. Although, Conte is proving everyone wrong as his squad his firing on both the attacking and defensive fronts.
Lukaku is seen getting back to his full fitness and is scoring goals at impressive rate alongside the Argentine, Lautaro Martinez with both scoring 10 and 8 goals in this Seria A season respectively.
Inter are currently the league leaders with 38 points and are two points clear off Conte’s former team, Juventus.
Inter are having a decent run in the Champions League as well and are currently at the second position and are in par with Borussia Dortmund and are three points behind Barcelona.
Inter will face Barcelona at home in their upcoming UCL fixture and victory would probably confirm their spot in the round of 16.
Conte, in a recent report, expects from the fans that the stadium should be at full capacity, supporting the side in their match against Barcelona.
He also expects no whistling and booing, which hurt the squad when they drew against Roma. It is a must-win game as a loss could send them to the Europa League, something Conte would never want.
With Valverde thinking of resting some of the vital players including Lionel Messi from his starting 11, Inter would want to take full advantage of that.
