Everton looking to make a move former Liverpool midfield dynamo

Newly-appointed Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking to make wholesale changes to his squad. He has reportedly set his sights on Juventus midfielder Emre Can who had a four-year spell playing for Everton's bitter local rivals Liverpool. 

Everton's fortunes have hardly improved with Ancelotti taking over the club in the middle of the season. The Italian mastermind is reportedly not happy with a number of members of his squad. 

The 60-year-old has even publicly questioned the attitude of his players and it is believed that the Toffees could be one of the busier sides during the January transfer window as well as the upcoming summer transfer window. 

Ancelotti is trying his best to improve the team as much as he can during this month itself and therefore, has set his sights on a player who is seemingly unhappy at his current club. 

Emre Can is desperate to put an end to his Juventus stay and it's hardly a surprise. He was not even included in the 23-man Juventus squad for the Champions League and has been restricted to just two starts in Serie A. 

When Can left Liverpool for Juventus, he believed it was a step up in his career but in just one and half years' time, his Juventus career looks done and dusted. 

Ancelotti is looking to capitalize on the situation and wants to bring Can to Goodison Park to solve his midfield woes. The 26-year-old is a proven Premier League player and is a step above anyone in the Everton midfield. 

However, a deal looks complicated as Can could be against the idea of playing for one of Liverpool's biggest rivals. He has reportedly said no to a move to Manchester United as well due to the same reason. 

Serie A title-challengers Inter Milan have also been monitoring the 26-year-old, but are unwilling to match Juve’s asking price or the player’s wages of £100,000-a-week. 

Ancelotti also wanted to sign Can in the summer, when he was in charge of Napoli, but the fee demanded by Juventus was deemed too high. Now he is keen on trying his luck once again at Goodison Park.
