City of Milan painted blue after a thrilling derby win by Inter

Romelu Lukaku celebrated Inter's memorable fightback against city rivals Milan on Sunday.

Antonio Conte's men demonstrated their never-say-die mentality after the Old Lady faced a shocking defeat and opened the entry to the top spot again.

Inter were trailing 2-0 at half-time but showed great enthusiasm. They produced a remarkable fightback to leapfrog defending champions Juventus atop the table in the race for the Scudetto.

Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino, Stefan de Vrij and Romelu Lukaku assured that Milan was painted blue in honour of the Nerazzurri as the Rossoneri collapsed at San Siro.

“We did really well during the second half. They played well during the first half, as we left them too much space and we struggled,” Lukaku, who netted his 17th Serie A goal of the season told Sky Sport Italia.

“However, we came out well after the interval. We completed the comeback and we're delighted with the win. I think that everyone has seen this team's mentality, we never give up and we're always looking to win.”

Lukaku gave a well-prepared speech and thanked the Inter boss and the background staff for their terrific support and told that it's his aim to get the team on top.

Inter boss Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri's emphatic derby win with Italian broadcaster InterTV.

The 50-year-old manager discussed his tactics, whether or not he would have changed anything about his approach to the first half considering the final result.

The former Chelsea and Juventus boss was seen satisfied and suggested that his Inter squad are finally the Inter Milan he wanted, playing the way he wants.

He accepted that he would and should have been responsible for the loss too and would face the media because his team is trying to portray his mentality and values of work, sacrifice and sweat.

Inter are currently at the top of the league table after 23 games, with 54 points and are tied with rivals and defending champions Juventus.

Lazio also won in a marginal 1-0 defeat, which means that there are now three teams within one point of each other at the Serie A summit.
