List of Women’s ODI World Cup winners so far
The dream has finally been realized. On Sunday at the packed D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the India women’s cricket team were crowned champions of the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final. This victory marks India’s first-ever title in the tournament and places them among an elite group of winners alongside Australia (seven titles), England (three titles), and New Zealand (one title).
Until now, India’s best results in the Women’s ODI World Cup had been as runner-up in both 2005 and 2017, losing to Australia and England respectively. This historic triumph not only ends decades of near misses but also establishes India as a rising force in women’s cricket on the world stage.
