Rafael Nadal vs Alexander Zverev H2H: French Open 2022 Semi-Final Prediction

These words were proven true when Alexander Zverev defeated teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz and the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, defeated World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals of the French Open 2022.

Alexander Zverev defeated Carlos Alcaraz in a gruelling four setter 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7) in 3 hours and 18 minutes. The German kept his nerves throughout the four sets, something that assured his victory over the Spaniard bull. 

Armed with a big serve and a forehand that kept Alcaraz behind the baseline, Zverev broke him early in the first two sets. Alcaraz fought back in the third set, breaking the World No.3 early in the set. 

The fourth set saw Alcaraz break the German again and when everyone thought the World No.6 was going to win the fourth set, Zverev saved a set point in the tie-breaker and converted the second match point.

"I think it was extremely important, because I knew that it was going to be a very long and very physical match, and I couldn't show too many emotions because that also makes you tired," Zverev told reporters.

After the match, the two players embraced at the net and shared some warm words. During his on-court interview, the German revealed that he told Alcaraz at the net that the 19-year-old would win the French Open "a lot of times." Credits sportskeed.com

Following the Zverev and Alcaraz quarter-final, was one of the most awaited quarter-finals of the French Open.

Meeting for the 59th time were Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Of course there was going to be a storm in Paris.

The first set saw Djokovic being broken in the very first set. From there Nadal took the lead to win the first set. 

As these two giants locked horns the match proceeded to a tie-breaker in the fourth set, where the King of Clay lived up to his name defeating his opponent 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).

"Of course we have a lot of history together," Nadal added. "A lot of important moments playing against each other. That's the truth. In that case, [it] always is a special match, playing against Novak.”

"Tonight [was] just a quarter-final match, not the final... But still a super classic match and in a big scenario. Between Novak, Roger [Federer], myself — we have an amazing story together facing each other in the most important matches for such a long time. So that makes things more special and more emotional."

Both the players are at the peak of their performances. Nadal has kept his performance quite constant through the entire tournament, improving with each match. Zverev has found his rhythm in keeping calm and collected even when the odds were against him.
