Manchester United to go back in hunt for wonderkid again in summer

Manchester United's opening offer for young English starlet Jude Bellingham may have been rejected in January.  

However, the Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still keen on signing the 16-year-old in the summer. 

The Birmingham City midfielder has shone in the Championship and now has a host of clubs chasing his signature. 

Manchester United did their best to beat off their competitors in January but they saw their £20million offer rejected by the Blues. 

As per reports in England, the bid was rebuffed due to the structure of the deal, which consisted of £8.5m up front for the Championship outfit, with the rest coming through a number of add-ons. 

A total of £5m would be payable after 50 appearances as well as £2 after the youngster's first goal for the senior side. 

The final add-on would depend on whether the Red Devils qualify for the Champions League or not and qualification would mean an added £4.5m. 

However, Birmingham reportedly want more than the proposed upfront fee for their priced asset and are reportedly open to a bigger offer in the summer. 

Although a move for the 16-year-old materialize in January, Solskjaer remains very much keen in the youngster who can play across a number of positions in midfield. 

There is also a significant number of clubs interested in the youngster's services inside and outside England. 

German giants Borussia Dortmund are said to be monitoring the situation of the English under-17 midfielder after seeing their acquisition from England Jadon Sancho reaching the heights at a very young age. 

And, Birmingham City are trying their best to make the best use of the interest in the youngster as they try to get the best deal for the wonderkid. 

Bellingham has been a regular for Birmingham this season having made 25 Championship appearances this season, contributing four goals for Pep Clotet's side. 

He also has a good eye for goal and broke Trevor Francis' record as Birmingham's youngest debutante at the age of 16 years and 38 days.
