Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrives at the San Siro! Will he make a difference?
The whole world knew that the veteran striker was a free agent after leaving LA Galaxy earlier this month. Ibrahimovic netted 52 goals in 56 appearances for the MLS side. With this, he proved that he still has the capability to play at a higher level.
Despite being 38 years old, the Swede was linked to many clubs around the world in recent weeks, one of them being Ancelotti’s Everton. But it seems that it was just a matter of time before he made a return to Serie A.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a sensational return to Serie A with AC Milan. It was reported on Boxing Day that Milan were confident of reaching an agreement with the player, but as per the reputed, Sky Italia and Guardian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, a deal has surely been agreed.
There were several meetings held as Milan stepped up their efforts to sign the former Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United star. As said, Milan will be offering the striker a six-month contract worth £3 million.
Zlatan, who won the Serie A title during his previous spell at San Siro has been recalled to help Milan restore their glory days. The Rossoneri has been going through a rough patch for the past few years and this signing could prove to be the catalyst to turn things around.
The former Swede international has signed a deal until the end of the season, with the option to extend it into the 2020-21 campaign. Ibrahimovic told Milan’s website that he is coming back to a club that he has huge respect for and also to the city that he still loves.
Zlatan left Milan in 2012 after an impressive season and joined PSG. Milan are 11th in the Serie A table, 14 points adrift of the top four, and were thrashed 5-0 by Atalanta in their last outing.
